Students will learn the rules and procedures of P.E. class. Students will be put into squads that they will be in for the entire semester. Students will begin learning the warm up routine used for our activities. We will build upon these warm ups as the year progresses. Students will learn the history, rules and strategies of soccer. Students will do various drills to practice the soccer skills of trapping, dribbling, heading and goal kicking. Students will play various lead up games before playing the actual game of soccer. Students will review the five components of the Presidential Fitness Challenge: shuttle run, sit and reach, sit-ups, pull ups/push ups/flexed arm hang, and the endurance run. Students will be allowed to practice each component before we formal test them in each of the five areas. These scores will be recorded and kept from year to year to gauge each student’s progress. Students will learn the history, rules and strategies of Ultimate Frisbee. Students will do various drills to practice the basic skills of throwing and catching a Frisbee while stationary and on the move. Students will play competitive games of Ultimate Frisbee. |

Students will do various drills to practice the basic skills of throwing and catching a football, goal kicking, tackling, blocking, and running with the ball. Students will play various lead up games before playing the actual game of football. Students will learn the history, rules and strategies of basketball. Students will do various drills to practice the skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting a basketball. Students will play various lead up games before playing the actual game of basketball. Students will learn the history, rules and strategies of handball. Students will do various drills to practice the basic skills of throwing and catching the handball, goal scoring and blocking the ball.

Students will learn the history, rules and strategies of volleyball. Students will do various drills to practice the skills of passing, setting, serving and hitting. Students will do various lead up games before playing the actual game of volleyball. Students will learn various dances from swing dancing to line dancing. Students will learn the history, rules and strategies of pickle ball. Students will do various drills to practice the skills of serving and volleying. Students will play learn to play the game of Pickle ball using singles and doubles play. Students will learn the basic skills of skating. Students will be doing various drills to enhance their skating abilities. Students will also be playing numerous lead up games while skating. |

Students will learn the history, rules and strategies of badminton. Students will do various drills to practice the skills of serving and volleying the birdie. Students will learn to play badminton using singles and doubles play. Students will learn the history, rules and strategies of Speedball. Students will learn how to pass the ball, kick the ball up to themselves, and goal scoring. Students will be retested in the five components of the Presidential Fitness Challenge: shuttle run, sit and reach, sit-ups, pull ups/push ups/flexed arm hang, and the endurance run.
