* The website www.gocollege.com  provides an overview and tips for the scholarship application process.

*The Home Builders Association Professional Women in Building Council Metro East (HBA PWB) has a scholarship available to women interested in the home building industry. www.nationalhousingendowment.org or www.nahb.org/WomenInBuilding  Deadline March 31, 2019.

*Acorn Equality Fund Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender persons, their children, and allies in Illinois' downstate counties. Apply at acornequalityfund.org. Deadline is September 21, 2018.

*FIDM National Scholarship Competition for students interested in global industries of fashion, visual arts, graphic design, interior design, social media and entertainment. Deadline is March 29, 2019. Visit bit.ly/FIDMscholarship for entry details.

*Community Banking Scholarship applications are available in guidance office. Deadline is Feb. 6, 2019. 2 Valmeyer winners will be chosen to win $6000 and $1000 respectively.

*Monroe County Electric has announced that there are ten-$2000 scholarships for high school seniors who are sons or daughters of parents who are cooperative members. Go to www.mcec.org for the link and information.

*The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt free. Recipients must graduate from a public high school located in a county in the United States having fewer than 50,000 residents. The scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters; 622 Hagan Scholars from 37 states currently attend 236 colleges and universities. www.hsfmo.org to apply. Deadline is Nov. 15, 2018 (5p.m.).

*Daughters of the American Revolution National Scholarships can be applied for at www.dar.org. For Illinois State Scholarships, see Mrs. Karsten for separate applications.

*Harrisonville Telephone Co. has scholarships at SWIC and SIUC available to local students.In addition, they have a Foundation for Rural Service scholarship program, a $2500 national scholarship program. See this flier for information. HTC info.pdf You can apply for the Foundation for Rural Service scholarship at www.frs.org. SIUC and SWIC both have scholarship applications on their websites to apply for the other 2.

*Illinois Farm Credit Agriculture Scholarship can be found at www.farmcreditIL.com. Deadline is March 1, 2019. You must be pursuing a degree related to agriculture, food systems, or natural resources to apply.

*IOOF has a scholarship available at www.ioof-il.org. Deadline is 3/1/19.  (Click on forms area on the top of the website to find application)

*IL Farm Bureau Members: IAA Foundation Scholarship Program Announcement
The 2019 IAA Foundation Scholarship Application Period is now open! This year’s lineup includes 72 scholarships totaling $110,000 in tuition support. Here is the application link:

*The Monroe County Soil & Water Conservation District Scholarship is available from Mrs. Karsten (also was sent to your email). Must be majoring in agriculture.

* The Jim Heil Career & Tech Ed Scholarship is available from Mrs. Karsten (also was sent to your email).

*The PAF Student Scholarship is designed for a high school athlete who intends to attend a university, college, or two-year institution that does not provide athletic scholarships. The Scholarship rewards high school athletes for their non-athletic achievements and assists them in achieving their career goals. The Professional Athletes Foundation Student Scholarship Program is administered by the St. Louis Former Players Chapter of the National Football League Players Association A $2500 scholarship is available for one male and one female student-athlete who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership skills, and strong promise for career goals. *Monroe County Farm Bureau Scholarship available in guidance office. The deadline is February 15, 2019.  Applicants must be furthering their education in an agriculture
field, be a Farm Bureau or dependent of a Farm Bureau member, and resident
of Monroe County.

*Each year, the America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders scholarship program awards more than $500,000 to eligible students pursuing ag-related studies.  The application period ends February 6, 2019. Go to www.americasfarmers.com for flier.

*Illinois Sheriff's Association Scholarship application available now in Guidance Office. Deadline is March 15, 2019.

*The St. Clement Community Foundation (SCCF) is accepting applications for a one-time $1,500 scholarship award to students pursuing degrees in the health care field. The scholarship awards will be made to students from the service area of the former St. Clement Hospital and Maria Care facilities (Monroe and Randolph counties and the St. Clair county communities of Marissa, New Athens and Lenzburg). At least one of the $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to a current employee, or the spouse or dependent, of Red Bud Regional Hospital or Red Bud Regional Care. This scholarship is intended to support deserving students in their academic endeavors and the development of quality health care professionals in this region. The Foundation strongly encourages scholarship recipients, upon completion of their program of study, to seek employment in the health care field in this geographic area in keeping with the mission of this foundation to ensure the availability and enhancement of health care services to residents of our area. The application deadlines is March 24, 2019.  Applications must be postmarked no later than that date or electronically submitted via the SCCF website at http://stclementcf.org  under Applications.

*Seniors are encouraged to apply for the Monroe County Licensed Beverage Association Scholarship. A $1,000 scholarship will be given to a senior from Valmeyer High School. Applications are available in the high school office; deadline April 12, 2019.

*Heneghan & Associates, P.C. has a scholarship for a senior majoring in Civil Engineering or Surveying. Applications available in the guidance office.

*The deadline for seniors to apply for an AFROTC scholarship is January 31st, 2019. Scholarships are available to cover the cost of tuition, lab fees, textbooks, and a monthly stipend for personal use. AFROTC program also includes 8 cross-town schools: Harris-Stowe State, Lindenwood, McKendree, South Western Illinois College, Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, University of Missouri St. Louis, Washington University in St. Louis and Webster University.  For more information and to complete a scholarship application by Jan. 31st, go to: afrotc.com/scholarships/application.

*Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship is for students pursuing a degree in the office professional, secretarial, or business-related fields. You can find application here:  https://publish.illinois.edu/illinois-admin-professionals/secretariat-activities-2/  Deadline is March 4, 2019.

 

*Red Bud Industries has scholarships for students attending both Ranken and SWIC. The Ranken application is available in the guidance office. The SWIC scholarship has to be applied for through SWIC Foundation Scholarship application at https://www.swic.edu/community/foundation/scholarships/  Deadline for Ranken application is April 1st. SWIC is March 1st.

 

*SEMO Monroe County Alumni Scholarship application is now available in guidance office. Deadline is April 5th.

 

*Valmeyer Education Association Scholarship appication is now available in guidance office. Deadline is March 15th.

*The Alois & Twyla Luhr Foundation Scholarship is now available in the guidance office. Deadline is March 15th. Must have a 3.0 GPA. Priority given to students majoring in a field related to engineering, construction management or the construction industry.

*    HB&R Professional Women in Building Scholarship application is available in guidance. Must be a female majoring in constructionmanagement, construction technology, civil engineering, architecture, design,or any of the trade specialties. Deadline is 3/31/19.

*Waterloo Odd Fellows Scholarship is available in guidance (or check your email for a pdf!)

*4 scholarships for females studying agriculture are offered by the Illinois Agri-Women.  A $1500 IAW Agriculture Education Scholarship is for an agriculture education major who is finishing the degree in the next year.  Three $1000 WCFA Agent of Change Scholarships are offered to students who have attended at least one Women Changing the Face of Agriculture Conference.  One scholarship is for a high school senior, one for a current college student, and one for a current graduate student. *Zimmer Family Scholarship application can be accessed at http://www.myscholarshipcentral.org At this site, the student will click through to Scholarship Central, where the Zimmer Scholarship will be found with a March 31 deadline. Once one of your students registers and completes the general application, the Zimmer Family Scholarship will be recommended to them. There are also other scholarships available at this site. The Zimmer Family Scholarship will be awarded to one graduating Valmeyer senior so be sure to apply!

*Monroe County Republican Committee Scholarship now available in guidance office. Deadline is 4/19/19.

*The Monroe County Rotary is once again awarding $500.00  "Service Above Self" scholarships to seniors this Spring. They expect to award at least one scholarship to a student from each Monroe County high school. Application can be found in guidance office or in your email. Deadline is April 1st.

*This scholarship is a great one for students interested in a medical career or students who have been impacted by cancer in some way. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE WILL VISIT VALMEYER HIGH SCHOOL TO SPEAK WITH PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE A PASS TO VISIT WITH THE REPRESENTATIVE, PLEASE SIGN UP ON THE HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE WINDOW AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED VISIT.  MRS. KARSTEN WILL WRITE YOU A PASS ONCE YOU SIGN UP.   VISITS TAKE PLACE IN THE LIBRARY UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
