*Register at www.fastweb.com to search scholarships, colleges, internships, part-time jobs, advice, and more.  It's free! 

*www.goodcall.com is a search engine for scholarships.

* The website www.gocollege.com  provides an overview and tips for the scholarship application process.

*Acorn Equality Fun Scholarship applications available at www.acornequalityfund.org. Provides scholarships for gay, lesbian, Transgender personals and their children in Illinois' downstate counties.

* www.scholarshipguidance.com has several scholarships available. Go to the site and check out the different opportunities!

*Student Athletes: Go to www.WendysHeisman.com to apply for scholarships.

*VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship application is available by emailing vfwil@vfwil.org. . This is open to all students in Grades 9-12.  Or email rock76@yahoo.com for more information.

*If you are majoring in engineering, apply here for the AES Scholarship. www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm. Deadline is Oct. 6, 2017.

*Illinois Electric Cooperative Scholarships are  available to students who are sons or daughters of an IL Electric cooperative member receiving service from the cooperative. Deadline is Dec. 31, 2017. Go to www.mcec.org for an application.

*The LaVern & Nolan McEntire Lineworkers Scholarship is available to students who are related to a rural electric cooperative employee or director in the state of IL; or is the son or daughter of a cooperative member in IL or is enrolled in the Lincoln Land lindworker's school; or has served or is serving in the US armed forces. See Mrs. Karsten for an application or download it at www.mcec.org.  Deadline is April 30, 2018.

*SeniorAdvisor.com: Future of Assisted Living Scholarship. Three $2,000 scholarships available to students enrolled in an associate's degree or bachelor's degree. You must write a 500-750 word essay response to the question: How can your major of study improve the lives of seniors in assisted living facilities in your town. Deadline is Dec. 31st. *Applications are open for the ACT Student Champion Award! The ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place. Apply at www.act.org/readinesschampions Deadline is Dec. 31, 2017.

*StudentScholarships.org has many scholarship opportunities for students. You can view the newsletter at studentscholarships.org/newsletter.php

*Daughters of the American Revolution have several scholarship opportunities. Go to https://www.dar.org/national-society/scholarships (National) or http://ildar.org/assets/pages/education.html (Illinois DAR) to see what you may qualify for.

*Apply for the Hagan Scholarship at www.hsfmo.org. You have to meet several criteria including having a $6,500 or less EFC on your FAFSA. Deadline is Nov. 15th.

*State Bank of Waterloo Scholarship is now available. Pick up a copy in the high school office or check your email for a pdf.  Deadline is Jan.3rd.

*AMVETS Scholarship application available at www.ilamvets.org Preference given to military families. Up to $1,000!

*Greenhouse Scholars is a scholarship program for low income students. http://greenhousescholars.org/our-scholars/become-a-scholar for more information. Must apply by Dec. 1.

*I.O.O.F. and Rebekahs of Illinois have a 2018/19 scholarship available. Go to www.ioof-il.org to find the application. Due March 1, 2018.

*IACAC Scholarship Committee will award ten $1,000 scholarships ($500 per semester, non-renewable) to students who plan on pursuing a college or university education. Go to www.iacac.org/scholarship to apply. Deadline is Jan. 31st.

*Beta Sigma Psi National Lutheran Fraternity Educational Foundation has several scholarships available to Lutheran men who will be starting college in Fall 2018. Apply at http://scholarships.betasigmapsi.org Deadline is Feb. 17th.

*Our school's food service Oopa! is proud of serving the nutritional needs of students since 1978. In memory of Kenneth L. Short, founder of Opaa! Food Management, a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a 2017-18 graduating high school seni from a school district currently served by Opaa! http://www.opaafood.com/index.php/parents-a-students/scholarships

*Monroe County Soil & Water Conservation District Scholarship application can be picked up outside Mrs. Karsten's office in the scholarship file folders. Deadline is March 1st & you must be majoring in agriculture/conservation.

*Jim Heil Career and Tech Ed Scholarship available now. Copies are outside Mrs. Karsten's office or a copy was emailed to you. Deadline is March 2nd.

*Monroe County Farm Bureau scholarhship application is available in Mrs. Karsten's office.

*Land of Lincoln ASMC scholarship was sent to your email. Or see Mrs. Karsten for an application.

*Kathryn Hansen Scholarship available here: http://publish.illinois.edu/secretariat/secretariat-scholarship/about-the-scholarship/  Deadline is March 5, 2018. Eligibility can be seen on the application.

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE WILL VISIT VALMEYER HIGH SCHOOL TO SPEAK WITH PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE A PASS TO VISIT WITH THE REPRESENTATIVE, PLEASE SIGN UP ON THE HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE WINDOW AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED VISIT.  MRS. KARSTEN WILL WRITE YOU A PASS ONCE YOU SIGN UP.   VISITS TAKE PLACE IN THE LIBRARY UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
