The Valmeyer Music
Boosters holding their annual Dinner / Auction / Theater event on Saturday,
March 15. They are looking for
items to be donated for the silent and live auction to be held in conjunction
with that event. If you’re looking for
an idea – how about going together with family members and donating a
themed-basket for the silent auction? If
you have any questions about auction donations, contact a committee member –
Gayle McCarthy, Teena Riechmann or Zoe Ann Schwarze.
GUIDANCE NEWS FROM VALMEYER
HIGH SCHOOL - - - Parents and Students – be sure
to check out the Guidance Counselor section on the School’s webpage. You can go to www.valmeyerk12.org and then click on the “Guidance” link to access important
guidance information such as college application deadlines, college
representative visits at VHS, FAFSA information, and important scholarship
announcements. There are also links to
useful college / career planning and financial aid websites. You can also always call Becky Karsten, Guidance
Counselor at School 935-2100, extension 205, or email at bkarsten@valmeyerk12.org if you need any help or have any questions.
At the most recent meeting of the
Valmeyer Village Board, the Trustees authorized the formation of a committee to
begin planning festivities and events for the Centennial of the Village to be celebrated during
2009. Anyone interested in serving on
that committee should contact Laurie Brown, Village Clerk.
Want to help out the School? Collect General
Mills boxtops, Campbells for Education labels and Nestle water bottle labels
and send them to School with your child or even with a neighbor child or drop
them off at the school office. All these
companies provide funds or equipment for our School. To find out what products are eligible look

State Bank of Waterloo has a
part-time employment opportunity at its Valmeyer Banking Center for a Customer
Service Representative. For more

Nomination forms
are currently available for members to be inducted into the VALMEYER SCHOOL MUSIC HALL OF FAME in the Spring of 2008. Those
applications can be obtained from Marcia Braswell or Mike Alexander at Valmeyer
School. The deadline for submitting
applications is Friday, January 18, 2008.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS – TRIVIA NIGHT – TRIVIA NIGHT – TRIVIA NIGHT to benefit
Valmeyer Cub Scout / Boy Scout Troop #345 on Saturday, January 12 at the
Valmeyer Junior High School Gym. Doors
open at 6:00 p.m. with the event starting at 7:00 p.m. Bring your own snacks and drinks – NO
ALCOHOL. Entry fee is $10 per person
with 8 members to a team. Cash prizes to

School Music Boosters are planning and will be hosting a CELEBRATION OF
THE TEACHING CAREER OF MARCIA BRASWELL on Sunday, January 13 at the School from 2:00 to 6:00
p.m. For more information about the

at 935-2403. THIS EVENT WILL BEGIN WITH A PROGRAM
FOLLOWED BY SOCIAL TIME.

Planning Committee for the 2008 Post Prom, please come to a meeting on January 16 in the Teacher’s
Lounge at School at 7:00 p.m. Parents
