Valmeyer Music Boosters holding their annual Dinner /
Auction / Theater event on Saturday, March 15.
The theme for this years event is WELCOME TO PIRATE ISLAND. They are looking for items to be donated for
the silent and live auction to be held in conjunction with that event. If youre looking for an idea how about
going together with family members and donating a themed-basket
for the silent auction? If you have any
questions about auction donations, contact a committee member Gayle McCarthy,
Teena Riechmann or Zoe Ann Schwarze.

YOUR CALENDARS for the Valmeyer Music Boosters Annual
Fish Fry / Music Marathon on Friday, February 22 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in
the Valmeyer School multi purpose room. Carryouts will be
available starting at 3:30 p.m. Cod
plates include two sides and dessert.
Cod sandwiches, side orders, drinks and dessert will also be
available. High School students will be
performing music solos & ensemble selections. All proceeds benefit Valmeyer
School Music programs.
At
the most recent meeting of the Valmeyer Village
Board, the Trustees authorized the formation of a committee to begin planning
festivities and events for the Centennial of the Village to be
celebrated during 2009. Anyone
interested in serving on that committee should contact Laurie Brown, Village
Clerk.
Want to help out the School? Collect General
Mills boxtops, Campbells
for Education labels and Nestle water bottle labels and send them to School
with your child or even with a neighbor child or drop them off at the school
office. All these companies provide
funds or equipment for our School. To

LOCAL BANK SUPER-SIZES
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS . . . . . State Bank of Waterloo
announces a scholarship competition that enables Illinois High School Seniors
to enter a statewide essay-writing contest. A scholarship in the amount of
$1,000 a year for up to four years of higher education will be awarded to the
author of the best essay submitted to the CBAI Foundation. This year, State Bank is also offering three
local scholarships in conjunction with the CBAI competition. The bank will award a Senior from Waterloo, Gibault and Valmeyer High Schools
a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 a year for up to four years of post
secondary education. The same entries
sent to the state competition will be judged locally. The bank is working with these three High
Schools to invite Seniors to submit short essays on the theme What Sets
Community Banks Apart From the Large Banks?
Information on the contest is available at each of the High Schools or
by contacting Mark Altadonna at State Bank by phone
at 939-7194 or by email at marka@statebankofwaterloo.com. Entries must be submitted to
the bank by February 4, 2008. The bank will then submit selected entries to
the CBAI Foundation to be eligible for the statewide competition.
