THIS WEEK AT SCHOOL:
The Valmeyer Music Boosters
holding their annual Dinner / Auction / Theater event on Saturday, March 15 in
the Valmeyer School Multi Purpose Room. The theme for
this year’s event is “WELCOME TO PIRATE ISLAND.” The Committee is looking for items to be
donated for the silent and live auction to be held in conjunction with that
event. If you’re looking for an idea –
how about going together with family members and donating a themed-basket for
the silent auction? If you have any
questions about auction donations, contact a committee member – Gayle McCarthy,
Teena Riechmann or Zoe Ann Schwarze.

Music Boosters Annual Fish Fry / Music Marathon on Friday, February 22 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
in the Valmeyer School multi purpose room.
Carryouts will be available starting at 3:30 p.m. Cod plates include two sides and dessert. Cod sandwiches, side orders, drinks and
dessert will also be available. High
School students will be performing music solos & ensemble selections. All proceeds benefit Valmeyer School Music
programs.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE
VALMEYER HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY BLOOD DRIVE. The American
Red Cross and the Valmeyer Chapter of the National Honor Society would like you
to come to the Valmeyer High School Gym on Monday, February 25 from 1:00 to
6:00 to donate blood. All blood donors
will receive a complimentary T-shirt from the Red Cross, along with FREE FOOD
AND DRINK. Appointments are welcomed,
but not necessary. If you have any
questions or concerns regarding the blood drive, contact Kelly Rowold, VHS NHS
Advisor at 935-2100, extension 122 or by emailing her at krowold@valmeyerk12.org.
The Valmeyer Senior Citizens
will hold their regular meeting on Wednesday, February 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emergency Services
Building. Frances Meyer (the clown) will
entertain in the afternoon.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE
ZACK PAGE BENEFIT. Zack Page is the brother of
Hattie Doyle, Valmeyer High School Principal. He was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome
on October 25, 2007, and is now undergoing rehabilitation. A Trivia Night and Silent Auction has been
scheduled for Friday, February 29 to help raise funds to cover overwhelming
medical bills the family has acquired.
The benefit will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Valmeyer High School. The cost of the trivia event is $10 per
person with a maximum of 8 people per table.
The silent auction will take place during the trivia event. For more information contact Jenny Kohnz at

St. John United Church of
Christ will be hosting a Fish Fry at the Church on Friday, February 29 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. They will have cod cut-ups and tilapia
sandwiches or plates. Plates include 2
sides (home-made potato salad, fries or slaw), a drink and homemade dessert. You can dine in or carry out.
The teachers and administration of
Valmeyer School will be working at the Columbia McDonald’s for “McTeacher’s
Night” on Tuesday, March 4th between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. to help
raise money for the 2008 Post Prom. See your favorite teacher / administrator working at McDonald’s and grab a bite to eat
all for a good cause. . . . . Donations are still needed for the 2008 Post
Prom. If you would like to help out,
contact Becky Karsten at 935-2100, extension 205 or by email at bkarsten@valmeyerk12.org. Monetary donations will be accepted as well
as donations of food and prizes. The
next Parent Meeting is February 25th at 7:00 p.m. in the Teacher’s
Workroom at School. Anyone interested is
invited to attend!
The Knights of Columbus are
having their “FIRST ANNUAL” Fish Fry on Friday, March 7 at the American Legion Home in Valmeyer. They will be serving fish and sides from 3:30
to 7:00 p.m. They will also be making
deliveries in town, so keep your eye out for order forms which will be
available at area businesses the week before the Fish Fry. For more information, contact Scott Roever at

The Valmeyer Village Board of
Trustees has authorized the formation of a committee to begin planning
festivities and events for the Centennial of the Village to be celebrated during
2009. Anyone interested in serving on
that committee should contact Laurie Brown, Village Clerk.
Want to help out the School? Collect General Mills boxtops, Campbells for
Education labels and Nestle water bottle labels and send them to School with
your child or even with a neighbor child or drop them off at the school
office. All these companies provide
funds or equipment for our School. To

The Valmeyer Optimists are
looking for a used 12 – 16 ft. long enclosed cargo trailer for storing and hauling all
of their picnic supplies. If you have one for sale, or know of one available contact Dave
Henerfauth at 935-2354.
