Thursday, October 26 – Valmeyer
is hosting the first-ever Monroe County Junior High Music Festival including
the Junior High chorus and band students from Valmeyer,
Waterloo and Columbia at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Gym.
Friday, October 27 – Junior High Girls
Basketball vs. Millstadt at HOME – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 28 – ACT National Test Day.
The NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY AT VHS and the
AMERICAN RED CROSS would
like to thank the students, teachers, staff and community members who
participated in the BLOOD DRIVE on October 13 at Valmeyer
High School. 85 people signed up, 69
donated (39 of those were VHS students), 23 were first time donors and a total
of 62 productive units were collected.
Special thanks go to the following businesses for donating attendance
prizes and food - - - MAR, Mike’s Convenience Store, Stuckmeyer’s
Plants and Produce, JaBowl, Hardee’s,
Movie Gallery and Southtown Sluggers. Please mark February 26, 2007 on your
calendar for our winter blood drive!

The VALMEYER HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE CLUB will be hosting a Fund
Raising night on Wednesday, October 25 at the Pizza Hut in Waterloo from 5:00
to 8:00 p.m. Pizza Hut will donate 20%
of designated purchases that night to the Valmeyer
High School Science Club.
The VALMEYER SENIOR CITIZENS will hold their regular
monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 25 at 1:00 p.m
at the Emergency Services Building. All
senior persons are welcome and invited to attend.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE VHS ANNUAL ALUMNI
BASEKTBALL GAME. This event will take place on Saturday,
November 11th beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The High School Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball teams will also be scrimmaging
on that evening. There will be FREE
admission, but BOSS (Boosters of School Sports) is asking for donations of items for the Monroe County
Humane Society. Items that are needed
include cat litter, cat and/or dog toys, and cat and dog food (preferably
Purina One).
The VALMEYER SCHOOL BAND is
looking for donations of used instruments. The band is
growing by leaps and bounds and is in need of instruments for the
students. Check your closets and
basements to see if you have any instruments lying around collecting dust. You can donate them to the school for a tax
deductible donation and they will be going to a good cause as well. If you are able to help out with this contact
Mike Alexander, the instrumental music teacher at the School.
VALMEYER HIGH
SCHOOL POST-PROM FUNDRAISER . . . . . HTC is offering a
special promotion that will support Valmeyer High
School’s Second Annual Post Prom event.
If you sign up for HTC wireless, Valmeyer High
School will receive a $25.00 donation from HTC, and you will get a $25.00
credit on your first bill. You will also
receive a free wireless phone (with optional Pirate logo), free activation and
one hour of free long distance on your home telephone each month. Questions - call Becky Karsten

Plans are
currently being made for the Second Annual Valmeyer
PTO Christmas Bazaar. The date for
the Bizaar will be Sunday, November 12 from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
