            Tuesday, May 9 – High School Softball and Baseball vs. Evansville at HOME – 4:30 p.m.

            Tuesday, May 9 – Junior High Spring Concert in the High School Gym – 7:30 p.m.

            Wednesday, May 10 – Senior Class Trip.

            Thursday, May 11 – Big Brothers / Big Sisters End of the Year Ice Cream Party – 2:00 p.m.

            Thursday, May 11 – High School Baseball vs. Mascoutah at HOME – 4:30 p.m.

            Thursday, May 11 – High School Spring Concert in the High School Gym – 7:30 p.m.

            Friday, May 12 – College Prep Lit Class Trip to Hannibal, Mo. – 7:00 a.m.

            Friday, May 12 – High School Boys JV Baseball at Chester – 4:30 p.m.

            Saturday, May 13 – FFA Plant and Fish Sale – 9:00 a.m. until Noon.

            Saturday, May 13 – High School Softball and Baseball at Bunker Hill – 10:00 a.m.

 

TO RESERVE ANY OF THE FACILITIES AT BORSCH PARK FOR A PARTY OR FUNCTION please contact Laurie at Village Hall.  Those with reservations will take precedence over those who have not reserved the facilities for their event.  This time of year with graduation parties, the park gets extremely busy, so be sure to call Village Hall.

 

There are lots of beautiful blooming plants on sale at the Valmeyer High School FFA Greenhouses.  Visit any day during lunch or stop by next Saturday, May 13 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon.

 

It’s almost Summer Reading time at the Valmeyer Library.  The theme this year is “VOYAGE TO BOOK ISLAND”.  The program is open to all children ages 3-16, and is FREE to residents of the Valmeyer School District.  Letters are being sent home with students, but if you don’t receive one, stop by the Library to pick one up.  The program kicks off on June 6 with a Movie Afternoon.  Come see “Peter Pan” at 2:00 p.m.  Popcorn and beverages will be served. . . . . . . . . . . BOOK CLUBS are still meeting.  There will be sessions on May 18 and May 22.  Consider joining to discuss books with other interested adults.  For more information call the Valmeyer Library.

 

VALMEYER SCHOOL CALENDAR . . . . .

            Tuesday, July 18 and Wednesday, July 19 – Registration for all students in Grades K-8 for the 2-006-2007

                        School Year – from Noon to 6:00 p.m.

            Wednesday, August 16 – First day of school for the 2006-2007 School Year.

 

VALMEYER ALUMNI BANQUET TICKETS ON SALE NOW!!! - - - Announcing the Annual Valmeyer Alumni Association Banquet – Saturday, May 13 – Dinner at 5:30 in the Valmeyer School Cafeteria – Dance at the Emergency Services Building to follow.  Music will be rock to country performed by your fellow alumni, with music from 8:00 p.m. to Midnight.  Cost is $12 for dinner only, $5 for dance only and $15 for both.  Tickets are available  at Mike’s Convenience, Valmeyer Village Hall and First Bank in Valmeyer.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the 1ST ANNUAL VALMEYER OPTIMIST CLUB ROAD RALLY – May 20.  Registration is from Noon to 1:00 p.m. at Mike’s Convenience Store.  The duration of the rally will be approximately 4 hours with the final destination at a local restaurant.  The fee is $15 per person / 4 people per vehicle.  For more information contact Scott Roever at 935-2332.
