THIS WEEK AT SCHOOL . . . . .

            Monday, May 15 – High School Girls Softball Regional Tournament at Roxana.  If team wins next game will

                        be Tuesday vs. Columbia at Alton Marquette.

            Tuesday, May 16 – High School Baseball Regional Tournament at New Athens – 4:30.  If team wins, next

                        game will be Wednesday vs. Pinckneyville at Red Bud.

            Tuesday, May 16 – Senior Awards Night – 8:00 p.m.

            Thursday, May 18 – High School Graduation Practice in the Gym – 8:45 a.m.

            Friday, May 19 – Commencement – 8:00 p.m.

            Tuesday, May 23 – Teacher Workshop – NO SCHOOL.

            Wednesday, May 24 – Last day of School.

The VALMEYER SENIOR CITIZENS will host their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emergency Services Building.  Frances “The Clown” will entertain the group.  Anyone age 55 or over is invited to attend.

 

A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE VILLAGE OF VALMEYER COMPREHENSIVE PLAN has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Valmeyer School Junior High Gym.  All Valmeyer residents are invited and encouraged to attend this event.  Residents will be allowed to present their comments.  Length of comments will be limited so all those who want to speak will have the opportunity.  Those who are unable to attend can forward their written comments to the Village Clerk for submission at the Public Hearing.  If you have any questions, contact Valmeyer Village Hall.

 

TO RESERVE ANY OF THE FACILITIES AT BORSCH PARK FOR A PARTY OR FUNCTION please contact Laurie at Village Hall.  Those with reservations will take precedence over those who have not reserved the facilities for their event.  This time of year with graduation parties, the park gets extremely busy, so be sure to call Village Hall.

 

VALMEYER SCHOOL CALENDAR . . . . .

            Tuesday, July 18 and Wednesday, July 19 – Registration for all students in Grades K-8 for the 2-006-2007

                        School Year – from Noon to 6:00 p.m.

            Wednesday, August 16 – First day of school for the 2006-2007 School Year.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the 1ST ANNUAL VALMEYER OPTIMIST CLUB ROAD RALLY – May 20.  Registration is from Noon to 1:00 p.m. at Mike’s Convenience Store.  The duration of the rally will be approximately 4 hours with the final destination at a local restaurant.  The fee is $15 per person / 4 people per vehicle.  For more information contact Scott Roever at 935-2332.
