A GOOD PART-TIME JOB????? . . . . . The Valmeyer Post
Office is looking to hire 2 employees. A
Postmaster Relief is needed to work an average of 9.5 hours per week, 6 days
per week. This includes every Saturday
morning. The duties are to work when the
Postmaster is off. The second employee
is needed to carry the auxiliary route 2 hours / day, 6 days / week, Monday
through Saturday. The Postmaster is
accepting applications until 6/10/2006.

PLEASE NOTE –
The next regular meeting of the
Village
sponsored LARGE ITEM PICKUP DAY will be Thursday, June 22. Such items for pickup can include old
appliances, furniture, etc. that are too large to be included in the regular
pickup. All doors, compressors, and
electric motors must be removed from appliances. No construction materials, garbage, landscape
waste, grass clippings, leaves, tires or gas tanks will be picked up. Items must be at the curb and be ready for
pickup by 6:00 a.m. on that day.

Prize
awarded for best float. As part of the
parade, kids are also being invited to
enter this year’s “Bicycle Decorating Contest”. Children are being encouraged to
decorate their bikes with crepe paper, balloons, streamers –
any way you’d like and
ride in the parade.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third prizes. To

Colossal Fireworks Display at Dusk.
The theme for
this year’s parade is “A Day at the Beach” with a $100 prize for the best
float. There will also be prizes awarded
for Kiddie entries – 1st place of $25, 2nd place of $15
and 3rd place of $10. For

The Valmeyer
Jaycees are looking for cleanup crews for the Valmeyer Midsummer Celebration. Crews are needed for Sunday night, Monday
night and Tuesday night. Cleanup crews
will be paid for this work. If you are
interested in helping with this, contact Margaret Brady or Sharon May.
