                Monday, October 17 – Junior High Girls Basketball at Waterloo – 6:00 p.m.

                Tuesday, October 18 – Junior High and High School Fall Concert in the High School Gym – 7:30 p.m.

                Wednesday, October 19 – Sophomores pick up class rings in high school lobby.

                Wednesday, October 19 – High School Volleyball at Marissa – 6:15 p.m.

                Thursday, October 20 – High School Volleyball at Gibault – 6:30 p.m.

                Thursday, October 20 – Junior High Girls Basketball vs. Red Bud at HOME – 6:00 p.m.

                Saturday, October 22 – ACT at Gibault High School.

                Sunday, October 23 – BOSS Barbecue at Rural King Parking lot. – 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

Census enumerators began conducting interviews with residents of the Village of Valmeyer on Thursday, October 6.  This activity will continue through October until all residents have been surveyed.  Each household will be asked to answer a few questions as a part of this process.  If you have any questions about the individuals conducting the interviews be sure to ask them for their proper identification.  THE VILLAGE BOARD WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE ALL RESIDENTS TO PROVIDE THEIR COMPLETE COOPERATION WITH THE CENSUS STAFF.  AN ACCURATE ACCOUNTING OF VALMEYER’S RESIDENTS IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF ALL VILLAGE CITIZENS.  If you have any questions about the census process please contact Valmeyer Village Hall at 935-2131.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the BOSS (Boosters of School Sports) Barbecue to be held on Sunday, October 23 at the Rural King Parking Lot.  Barbecue with all the sides will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on that day.

 

The Valmeyer Senior Citizens will hold their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emergency Services Building.

 

Valmeyer High School Music students are busy preparing for their fall musical production of “THE MUSIC MAN”.  MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the date of the production – November 3, 4 and 5 on the High School stage.

 

The Valmeyer FFA has a large selection of beautiful mums at Valmeyer High School behind the Ag Shop.  The Mums can  be purchased from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. each school day.  For questions or to place orders call 935-2100, extension 102.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the Valmeyer Youth Sports TRIVIA NITE – October 22 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.  $10 per person – 6 minimum – 8 maximum per table.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m.  Trivia begins at 7:00 p.m.  Call Allen May at 935-2611 for reservations.  Snacks and refreshments permitted.

 

IT WON’T BE LONG NOW . . . . . . . the 9th ANNUAL VALMEYER OPTIMIST CLUB’S HALLOWEEN PARTY on October 31st (Halloween) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – featuring a scavenger hunt and costume contest – starting at Mike’s Convenience Store.  Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st place in three age groups.  All scavenger hunt teams can have no more than 4 members.  No driving teams are allowed.  You must sign up for the scavenger hunt from 6 – 7 p.m. and return by 8 p.m.  Food and drinks will be served at Mike’s and hayrides will be running in town to help everyone get around.  The best part is – IT’S ALL FREE!!!!!  This event is sponsored by the Valmeyer Optimist Club with assistance from the Valmeyer American Legion, Mike’s Convenience Store and the Valmeyer Fire Department.
