            Monday, November 7 – Junior High Girls Basketball at Columbia – 6:00 p.m.

            Tuesday, November 8 – Junior High Boys Basketball vs. New Athens at HOME – 6:00 p.m.

            Thursday, November 10 – Junior High Boys Basketball at Dupo – 5:00 p.m.

            Friday, November 11 – VETERANS DAY – NO SCHOOL.

            Saturday, November 12 – IMEA District VI Music Festival at SIUE.  The bus will leave the High

                        School parking lot at 6:45 a.m.

 

VILLAGE TRAFFIC NOTICE - - - - - The School Crossing Guards have been supplied with orange traffic cones that display a STOP SIGN.  The Village has approved the use of these cones for traffic control at the crosswalks when students are present before and after School.  The stop signs are recognized as an official STOP SIGN and the public is required to stop at the crosswalk when they are in place.  PLEASE OBEY THESE SIGNS FOR THE SAFETY OF THE STUDENTS AS THEY COME AND GO TO SCHOOL.

 

Preliminary CENSUS FIGURES have been released following the recent Special Census held in Valmeyer.  The 2000 Census count registered Valmeyer with 650 residents.  The current Village population now stands at 1119.  The official tally certification should be received in several months.  Thanks to all Valmeyer residents for their cooperation with the Census.

 

The High School Band and Chorus members are now selling personalized cake pans, cutting boards, picture frames and many more items to raise money for their Spring trip.  THE SALE ENDS NOVEMBER 8th.  Please contact any Chorus or Band member to purchase items and support this worthwhile cause.

 

Flu shots will be available at First Bank on Tuesday, November 8 from 9 am to 10:30 am.  This event is being sponsored by First Bank and the Monroe-Randolph Bi-County Health Dept.  The cost is $20 or FREE with Medicare Part B card.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS – The Valmeyer PTO will be hosting a Christmas Bazaar on Sunday, November 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  For those wanting to sell items, table spaces can be rented for $15.00.  For table reservations or for additional information contact Elaine Beckmann at 935-2228.

 

Applications are currently being accepted for nominations for the induction of individuals into the Valmeyer School Music Hall of Fame.  These applications will be accepted until January 16, 2006, and new members will be inducted in the Spring of 2006.  For applications contact Marcia Braswell or Mike Alexander at Valmeyer School.
