The Valmeyer School PTO would like to thank everyone who participated in any way in their first Annual Christmas Bazaar.  It was a huge success and enjoyed by everyone.  They are already planning next year’s event.  Thanks again - they look forward to seeing you next year.  Happy Holidays from the Valmeyer PTO.

 

The Valmeyer High School National Honor Society is having a “COATS FOR KIDS” DRIVE from November 28 to December 9.  They are collecting new and gently-used coats, as well as new hats, gloves and scarves to donate to the Christian Activity Center in East St. Louis, which is an after school center that provides a safe, nurturing environment for children and youth in the community.  These coats and winter apparel will be donated to children ages 6-18, so please donate items for children in this age range.  Collection boxes will be placed in the school lobbies as well as MAR Graphics, Mike’s Convenience Store and First Bank.

 

2006 VALMEYER YOUTH SPORTS ASSOCIATION BASKETBALL AND CHEERLEADING - - - Games played at Valmeyer School - - - separate boys and girls teams - - - registration and all fees due at sign up - - - K through 8th grades - - - cost is $35 for the first child, $30 for the second child and $25 for each additional child - - - $35 for 5 on 5.  Sign up date is Monday, November 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. during the Junior High Basketball Game and Saturday, December 3 at the Junior High Lobby from 9 a.m. until Noon.  Cost increases $10 after the sign-up dates.  For more information contact Allen Maus at 939-6065.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS - - - VALMEYER FFA ALUMNI FARM TOY SHOW – Sunday, December 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Valmeyer High School.  Admission price is $1 for all.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS - - - VALMEYER FFA POINSETTIA OPEN HOUSE – Sunday, December 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Valmeyer High School FFA Greenhouse.  Varieties will include red, white, pink and variegated.  The Greenhouse will also be open from 12:15 to 12:45 each school day.  For more information call 935-2100, extension 102.

 

VILLAGE TRAFFIC NOTICE - - - - - The School Crossing Guards have been supplied with orange traffic cones that display a STOP SIGN.  The Village has approved the use of these cones for traffic control at the crosswalks when students are present before and after School.  The stop signs are recognized as an official STOP SIGN and the public is required to stop at the crosswalk when they are in place.  PLEASE OBEY THESE SIGNS FOR THE SAFETY OF THE STUDENTS AS THEY COME AND GO TO SCHOOL.

Applications are currently being accepted for nominations for the induction of individuals into the Valmeyer School Music Hall of Fame.  These applications will be accepted until January 16, 2006, and new members will be inducted in the Spring of 2006.  For applications contact Marcia Braswell or Mike Alexander at Valmeyer School.
