                Friday, February 18 – High School Boys Basketball vs. Steeleville at HOME – 6:00 p.m.

                Monday, February 21 – High School Boys Basketball in Regional Tourney at New Athens -   

                                Valmeyer vs. New Athens at 7:30 p.m.

 

Valmeyer C.U.S.D. #3 will be accepting sealed bids for the mowing of the school grounds during the months of March through November, 2005.  Interested mowing contractors should stop by the unit office to pick up a bid packet and to receive instructions as to what will be mowed.  Bids will be opened at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Unit Office.

 

THE VALMEYER PUBLIC LIBRARY is forming book discussion groups.  One group will meet on Monday nights and another on Thursday nights.  Please call 935-2626 for more information or to sign up for the discussion groups.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE VALMEYER MUSIC BOOSTERS ANNUAL FISH FRY / MUSIC MARATHON . . . . . Friday, February 25 in the Valmeyer School Multi-Purpose Room.  Serving from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m.  Carryouts will be available at 3:30 p.m.  Cod plates will include 2 sides and a dessert.  There will also be music performances by the students of the Valmeyer High School Music Department.  All proceeds from this event will benefit the Valmeyer School Music Department.

 

St. John UCC Valmeyer Youth Group is selling butter braids and cookie dough as a fund raiser.  The flavors available are apple, cherry, cinnamon and cream cheese.  They also have Chippery Gourmet Cookie Dough in the following flavors – chocolate chunk, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter and white chocolate macadamia nut.  The proceeds from this sale will benefit youth group activities and community service projects.  To place an order call Susan Unterseh at 935-2370 or Kim Chappuis at 935-6017.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS . . . The Annual Valmeyer Music Boosters Dinner – Theater – Auction event on Saturday, March 19, 2005. . . . . JUKEBOX SATURDAY NIGHT - - - Lost in the 50’s.  You won’t want to miss this great event.  TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW AT ALL TICKET OUTLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The Valmeyer Music Boosters are looking for donations of auction items for this event.  If you would be willing to donate an auction item please contact Susan Unterseh at 935-2370 or Zoe Ann Schwarze at 935-2403.  There is also a need for baskets that can be used for collections of auction items.  If you have baskets to donate contact Susan, Zoe Ann or Mrs. Braswell at School.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE FIRST ANNUAL VALMEYER OPTIMIST HOUSE TOUR . . . . . Sunday, April 3, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Several homes have already been scheduled for this tour, and the Optimists are looking for several more interested homeowners.  Advanced tickets are available by calling Jennifer Seidler at 935-1818 or Toni Whipple at 935-0555.  Advanced tickets are $8.00.  Tickets will be sold the day of the house tour at the Emergency Services Building for $10 each.  If you are interested in having your home on the house tour contact Jennifer Seidler at 935-1818.
