To look in and not out, to look forward and not back, to look up and not down.

IF THE ROOSTER DIES . . . . . . . BUY AN ALARM CLOCK!

It has been a BUSY AND PRODUCTIVE year in the Village of Valmeyer.  Among the major developments - - -

(1)     The initial phase of infrastructure improvements has taken place at the Rock City Business Complex and tenants are in place.

(2)     The Village partnered with the Illinois Audubon Society and the Illinois Clean Energy Foundation to establish the Rock City Bluff Top as a Nature Preserve area.

(3)     The Village contracted with the Census Bureau to do a special census of the Village yielding a preliminary count of 1119 residents.  The final certified count has now been received – Valmeyer officially has 450 housing units and a population of 1,124 as compared to the year 2000 count of 241 housing units and 608 people.

(4)     Work has begun on Bluff Meadows – a 275 lot residential development that was annexed to the Village’s eastern border.

Congratulations to Marvin Fisher, and the organizers of the First Annual Melvin Fisher Hills and Hollows Marathon.  Earlier this week Marvin presented a check to the Valmeyer Fire Department for $5,500 – the proceeds from this year’s event.  The Fire Department will use this money for education and training purposes.
