            Thursday, December 15 – Junior High Boys Basketball Conference Tournament.

            Thursday, December 15 – Junior High / High School Christmas Concert in the High School Gym – 7:30 p.m.

            Friday, December 16 – High School Boys Basketball vs. New Athens at HOME – 6:00 p.m.

            Friday, December 16 – Junior High Boys Basketball Conference Tournament.

            Saturday, December 17 – High School Girls Basketball – Valmeyer Invitational at HOME.

            Saturday, December 17 – High School Boys Basketball vs. St. Charles Christian at HOME – 6:00 p.m.

 

VALMEYER COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE – Monday, December 12 at St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be served.  Since none of us can predict when our lives will be touched by the need for blood, why not touch someone else’s life by sharing your good health.  Please plan to donate blood.

 

VHS Band and Chorus members are now available for odd jobs . . . . . yard work, house cleaning, gift wrapping, decorating, babysitting . . . whatever work you need done.  All students are to be paid on a donation basis.  Proceeds from this work will go toward the cost of the Music Department Spring Trip to the National Music Festival.  Anyone interested in “hiring” a VHS student should contact Marcia Braswell at 935-2100, extension 403 or Mike Alexander at 935-2100, extension 232.

 

Wouldn’t the children in your family be delighted to receive a phone call or letter from Santa???  That is possible thanks to the Valmeyer Optimists, and it could be yours for only a $5 donation to the Optimist Club.  For arrangements call Teena Riechmann at 458-4546.

 

PICK UP YOUR COPY NOW OF STOVETOP MELODIES – ENCORE EDITION – Valmeyer School Music Boosters Cookbook - - - Copies of this cookbook can be purchased from the Valmeyer School Music Department or from the Valmeyer School Music Boosters.  Proceeds from this sale will benefit High School students who will be attending this year’s National Music Festival.

 

It’s not too early to MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE 2006 ANNUAL MUSIC BOOSTER DINNER EXTRAVAGANZA - - - “A BITE OF THE BIG APPLE” - - - to take place on Saturday, March 18 at Valmeyer School featuring dinner, auction and a community talent showcase to benefit the Valmeyer School Music Department.  Start planning now for the items you will donate to the auction.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR - - - TRIVIA NIGHT benefiting Valmeyer Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troop #345.  Saturday, January 7th at the Valmeyer Junior High School Gym.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with trivia starting at 7:00 p.m.  Bring your own snacks and drinks – NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED.  Cash prizes to be awarded.  $10 per person with 8 members per team.  For more information or to make reservations call Allen May at 935-2611.

 

Applications are currently being accepted for nominations for the induction of individuals into the Valmeyer School Music Hall of Fame.  These applications will be accepted until January 16, 2006, and new members will be inducted in the Spring of 2006.  For applications contact Marcia Braswell or Mike Alexander at Valmeyer School.
