VALMEYER LIBRARY NEWS . . . The Book Fair is over, although there are still books for sale by Charlet Faye and Barbara Turner.  The raffle drawing was held with the following results – Teena Riechmann won the book lamp, Sam Roever won the decorated cake, Caleb Hicks won the chocolate lovers basket, Linda Coats won the coffee lovers basket, Mariah Roland won the school basket, Audrey Roever and Vicki Zavala won the crochet rugs, Alice Wellen won the throw pillow. . . . . Now it is National Library Week, so visit your Library this week.  There is new furniture in the new addition that was purchased by the PTO.  Come try it out, there is always something new to read . . . . . Summer Reading letters will be going out within the week.  The theme is “Super Heroes Powered by Books”.  The search is on for some volunteer who is available on Tuesday morning during June and July to play the part of the “villain”.  Contact the Library if you or someone you know would like to work with the children in this way.  They need someone who can “hiss” and “boo”. . . . . The Library will be closed from May 17 to July 2 because of a software switch at the Lewis and Clark Library System.  Circulation operations will not be available during that time, so come in soon and get enough books to carry you through . . . and don’t forget about the Book Clubs.

The Library is SELLING WOODEN PLAQUES DEPICTING THE ORIGINAL VALMEYER HIGH SCHOOL in full color.  The plaques are 4 inches by 8 inches and sell for $15.00.  Examples of the plaques are available around town.  Stop by the Library to buy one, or call the Library at 935-2626 to reserve one.
