VALMEYER C.U.S.D.#3 INKJET AND LASER CARTRIDGE RECYCLING PROGRAM . . . . .

For the past three years, Valmeyer School District has participated in an inkjet and laser cartridge recycling program with Ecco Recycles of Kent, Washington.  They collect inkjet and laser cartridges, then package and ship them to Ecco.  Ecco then pays the school for the cartridges.  All packaging materials and shipping is provided by Ecco.  Since the inception of the program the school has made over $1,000 that has been used to offset the purchase of ink and toner for classroom use and purchase a pre-owned laptop computer.  There are a few types of toner cartridges that cannot be recycled.  They are unable to recycle Epson inkjet cartridges and a few laser cartridges.  You can visit the school website to see a complete list of the ink and toner cartridges that can be recycled.  This program also allows the school to accept CELL PHONES for recycling.  Visit the web site list to see if your old / unused cell phone is on the list of those that can be recycled.  If you would like to help the school by donating empty inkjet or laser cartridges, or cell phones, you may drop them off during school hours in Room 322 or at the main office.  After hours you may drop them off in the Valmeyer Library.

The Post Office in Valmeyer is looking for a cleaner.  Anyone interested in cleaning the Post Office, please call Alice at 935-2679 . . . . . . . . . . . Did you know it is a Federal offense to steal from the Post Office or from anyone’s mailbox?  There have been some mishaps at the Post Office.  A few items (an orange Halloween Bear, two tote bags and a puppy dog pen) have been taken.  Papers have been found thrown on the floor and tape taped on the walls and wasted.  Anyone with information of the whereabouts of the items or who may be doing this, please contact Postmaster Alice.

During this upcoming week when you celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday, take time to give thanks for life’s blessings.
