The Valmeyer Senior Citizens will be holding their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emergency Services Building.  This change of regular meeting date is due to Thanksgiving the following week.

Members of the Valmeyer Boy Scouts distributed plastic bags to all Village residents this past Saturday for the Scouts annual food collection drive.  Please be generous and fill the bags with food items.  Place the bags on your front porch before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20.  The Scouts will be picking up the bags next Saturday after that time.

There is one more chance to sign up for the 2005 Valmeyer Youth Sports Association Basketball and Cheerleading programs.  These programs are for K-8 students, with all games played at Valmeyer School, and there will be separate boys and girls teams.  Signup will take place from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. during the Junior High Basketball game on Tuesday, November 16th.  For any questions about the program contact Allen Maus at 939-6065 or Scott Rippelmeyer at 935-2431.  There is a $10 additional signup fee after this date.

The VHS Yearbook Staff is now selling AVON products through November 29th.  These products will be on four flyers which are specially designed for school fundraisers.  Anyone wishing to order AVON from these flyers may do so by contacting a staff member through November 29th, or by calling Ms. Chilovich, the yearbook sponsor at 935-2100, extension 128 and leave a message.  All orders will be appreciated, as profits earned from AVON sales will be used to pay off the 2004 yearbook.

Did you know it is a Federal offense to steal from the Post Office or from anyone’s mailbox?  There have been some mishaps at the Post Office.  A few items, (an orange Halloween Bear, two tote bags and a puppy dog pen) have been taken.  Papers have been found thrown on the floor and tape taped on the walls and wasted.  Anyone with information of the whereabouts of the items or who may be doing this, please contact Postmaster Alice.
