members joined together in Valmeyer’s first community theater performance to
present a delightful entertainment entitled, “In St. Louis, At the Fair”, a
commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. Members of the Music Boosters would like to

A MESSAGE FROM VALMEYER C.U.S.D.#3 –
RUTH SCHNEIDER, Pre-K-8 PRINCIPAL . . . Students in grades K-8 will be taking
standardized tests the month of April.
The Kindergarten will take the Metropolitan Readiness Test. The Illinois
Standardized Achievement Test (ISAT) will be given March 29 – April 9, and the Iowa Test of Basic
Skills will be given April 19 – 30 for grades 1-8. These achievement tests are important
indicators of your child’s progress. The
results are placed in the student’s permanent file and may be used as one
source of data to determine promotion or retention. We want children to have the opportunity to
do their best on the tests. You can help
by ensuring that your child gets plenty of sleep and has a good breakfast. Also, while encouragement is always helpful,
extreme pressure to perform well can actually cause a child to become tense and
nervous. These feelings can cause a
child to freeze and do poorly when tested.
Thus, positive statements of encouragement and support are most helpful
from parents. Together, we are partners
in the education of your child. Your
help and support are always appreciated.
DON’T FORGET TO REGISTER FOR THE St. John United Church
