currently in need of our thoughts and prayers.
Melvin Fisher is suffering from a serious physical ailment at this time
and is need of our support. The Valmeyer
Jaycees have announced that the 2004 Valmeyer Midsummer Celebration Fireworks
display will be dedicated to Melvin.
Please remember him in this time of need and wish him well.
A MESSAGE FROM THE
VALMEYER PUBLIC LIBRARY . . . Your Library and the Illinois Society for the
Prevention of Blindness are reminding you to think before you “just fool
around” with fireworks. They are
gunpowder explosives and are JUST PLAIN DANGEROUS! Don’t celebrate with fireworks. Fireworks hurt. The children are “Celebrating Cool Summer
Reading.” Adults can do the same. What better way to keep cool than with a cold
drink, a shade tree, and a good book. We
have new books by Stephen King, Janet Evanovich, Danielle Steel, Dean Koontz
and many more. Come on in. It’s cool inside the Library. Remember our hours. Monday and Thursday from

CHANGE OF DATE FOR VALMEYER AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY MEETING – The regular
monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 6 instead of Monday. This meeting will include installation of
officers, so your attendance would be appreciated.
