                        JV game at 5:00 p.m.

            Friday, January 16 – H. S.  Girls Basketball – St. Charles Christian at HOME – 6:30 pm.

            Friday, January 16 – H. S. Boys Basketball – St. Charles Christian at HOME – 8:00 p.m.

            Saturday, January 17 – High School Girls Basketball Valmeyer – Marissa Shootout at

                        HOME – Girls JV Game at 3:00 p.m., Freshmen Boys Game at 4:30 p.m. and

                        High School Girls Game at 6:00 p.m.

            Saturday, January 17 – High School Boys Basketball at Mater Dei Shootout 8:00 p.m.

            Monday, January 19 – Martin Luther King Birthday – NO SCHOOL.

            Tuesday, January 20 – Saturday, January 24 – High School Boys Varsity Basketball to

                        Participate in Sparta Mid-Winter Classic.

 

The Music Department of Valmeyer High School will be producing a short musical play titled, “In St. Louis at the Fair,” for the annual Music Boosters Dinner Auction Theater on Saturday, March 27 at the School.  Alumni and community members are invited to audition for roles in the play.  There are roles for a minimum of 17 people - - - men and women.  Auditions are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, January 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chorus room of the School.  Seniors at VHS are also eligible to audition.  Anyone interested in auditioning for the show should call Marcia Braswell at the School, and leave a message indicating your name, phone number and interest in auditioning for the show.

 

Valmeyer Community Unit School District #3 is looking for a FULL TIME BUS DRIVER.  The starting date is ASAP.  Applications are available in the unit office, or call Superintendent Steve Laur at 935-2100, extension 425 for more information.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS . . . . . The Valmeyer Jaycees, with the assistance of the Valmeyer Lions Club, the Valmeyer Optimists and the Valmeyer American Legion Post 901 will be sponsoring a dance at the Hecker Community Center on Friday, January 16, 2004 from 8:00 p.m. to Midnight.  Tickets for this event are $6.00.  Route 3 will provide the musical entertainment for the evening and the organizations will use the proceeds from this event to purchase holiday decorations to be displayed throughout the town of Valmeyer.

 

THE DEADLINE FOR ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS IS FRIDAY, JANUARY 16 - - - - - -Applications are currently being accepted for nominations for those to be inducted in 2004 to the Valmeyer School Music Hall of Fame.  Nominees:

·         do not need to be VHS graduates - must be at least 23 years of age - can be living or deceased.

·         will be inducted into the Valmeyer School Music Hall of Fame because of their outstanding abilities in music and / or dance performance, because of their outstanding service as music educators, or because they have made an outstanding contribution to music in the school and / or the community.  Induction may be because of any one or more of the previously listed criteria.
