RECYCLING
DAY – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1 - - - The Valmeyer Village recycling curbside pickup program
continues. Thanks to the Clovertown 4-H
Club and the Valmeyer High School Student Council for continuing this valuable
service to the community. Last week the
groups began to include plastics with the regular twice-monthly pickup. They will pick up TYPE 1 AND TYPE 2 PLASTICS along with other recyclable items on the
first and third Saturday of every month.
These plastic items include milk jugs, detergent containers, soda
bottles, etc. You can tell what type of
plastic item each is by looking at the bottom of the container. Each item will contain the three-arrow
recycling symbol with a number in the middle – a number 1 or 2. This indicates the type plastic. Please make sure that your plastic items
have been rinsed thoroughly before including them with your curbside pickup
items. Other items that can be recycled
are aluminum cans, tin cans, newspapers and glass of all colors. Please
have your recycle items at the curb by 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Don’t forget to leave your catalogs and other paper items in the large recycle bins on
the School parking lot. Money
earned from this recycling benefits the classes at Valmeyer School.
