The Valmeyer Village recycling curbside pickup program continues.  Thanks to the Clovertown 4-H Club and the Valmeyer High School Student Council for continuing this valuable service to the community.  Last week the groups began to include plastics with the regular twice-monthly pickup.  They will pick up TYPE 1 AND TYPE 2 PLASTICS along with other recyclable items on the first and third Saturday of every month.  These plastic items include milk jugs, detergent containers, soda bottles, etc.  You can tell what type of plastic item each is by looking at the bottom of the container.  Each item will contain the three-arrow recycling symbol with a number in the middle – a number 1 or 2.  This indicates the type plastic.  Please make sure that your plastic items have been rinsed thoroughly before including them with your curbside pickup items.  Other items that can be recycled are aluminum cans, tin cans, newspapers and glass of all colors.

Don’t forget to leave your catalogs and other paper items in the large recycle bins on the School parking lot.  Money earned from this recycling benefits the classes at Valmeyer School.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS - - - The Valmeyer School Music Boosters are making plans to present their Annual Spring Dinner / Theater / Auction event.  Saturday, March 8th is the date set for “Westward Ho”.  Once again those attending can expect to indulge in a delicious dinner, and have the chance to bid on a plethora of interesting silent and live auction items.  The entertainment for this year will be a comedy murder mystery titled “A Fistful of Hollers” staged by Jest for Fun Entertainment . . . . . a professional theater company. Watch for more details in the coming weeks.

Valmeyer High School Band and Chorus students are still available for odd job work.  Do you need babysitters . . . . .  or maybe some help with the after Christmas house cleanup . . . . . or maybe some other project that would go so much easier if you had a couple of extra hands to complete it.  These students are still trying to earn money for their Spring trip to Colorado to perform at the Heritage Music Festival.  If you are interested in “hiring” some student help, please contact Marcia Braswell or Pat Wright at Valmeyer High School.
