            Friday, March 14 – Junior High Volleyball at Red Bud “C” Tournament.

            Friday, March 14 – Junior Class Play.

            Saturday, March 15 – Junior Class Play.

 

Don’t miss this one!!!!!!  “Murder at Coppersmith Inn” – the VHS Junior Class Play will take the stage on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15.  This 3-act comedy is about a dinner theater group that is trying to save their historic inn with a thrilling performance of a murder mystery.  Unbeknownst to them, their performance has been infiltrated by criminals, FBI agents, and high school juniors pretending to be seasoned actresses.  Chaos reigns as the play within a play progresses to an unexpected conclusion.  Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

 

RECYCLING DAY – Saturday, March 15 – Please have your recycle items at the curb by 8:00 a.m. for pickup on that day.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS - - - St. John UCC Trivia Night - - - Saturday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m.  Cost is $10 per person with 6 to 8 people at a table.  All proceeds benefit the St. John UCC Sunday School.  Please No Alcohol allowed on premises.  Refreshments will be available.  For reservations or more information call Gina at 939-7960, Trudi at 939-8123 or Debi at 939-6377.

 

On March 28, the Valmeyer High School Pirates baseball team will play Okawville at GMC Stadium in Sauget at 4:00 p.m.

 

St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer has announced their upcoming schedule of Fish Fries.  These events will be held on Friday, March 21 - - - - - and Friday, April 4.  Serving will be from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on those days with eat in or carry out available.  Cod and walleye plates and sandwiches will be available.  Plates will include a choice of two sides - - - home made German potato salad, cole slaw and french fries - - - and a choice of dessert.  Beverages will also be available.

 

St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer is sponsoring a CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) training class on March 20 at 6:30 p.m.  The class will include training to resuscitate infants through adults.  The cost of the class is $30, however St. John has received a grant from the Deaconess Foundation to cover $27 of the class fee for the first 30 people to make reservations.  This means you can participate in this CPR training class for just $3 per person, if you are one of the first 30 to sign up and pay the $3 registration fee.  Participants must be at least 10 years of age. This course will be taught by Stacy Graff, an EMT and certified instructor / trainer for the American Heart Association and the National Safety Council.  To register for the class, sign up at the St. John UCC church office, or contact Pastor David Riebeling or Pat Garleb at the church office at 935-2240.  Pat may also be contacted at home at 935-2413.  Remember the first 30 persons paying their $3 fee will be guaranteed the $27 training scholarship.
