2003 Valmeyer Midsummer Celebration is just around the corner and the
Valmeyer Jaycees and the Valmeyer Lakers have announced the schedule for the
holiday weekend.

The
Valmeyer Post Office is promoting the new HERO STAMP from now until June 13,
2003. The stamp features an
image of the firemen erecting the United States flag in the rubble of the twin
towers following the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Each stamp sells for 45 cents, with 8 cents going toward the Federal
Emergency Management Agency to help the families of those killed or injured in
the 9/11/01 terrorist attack. Each
stamp you purchase will help this worthwhile cause.
The
Valmeyer Library is looking for photographers and technical buffs (actors,
dancers, etc.) to present programs at the LIGHTS,
CAMERA, READ! SUMMER READING PROGRAM.
Contact the Library at 935-2626 with suggestions, ideas or for
scheduling information. On June 10th
at 10:00 a.m. Sue Fiedler will make a photography session for Summer Reader
groups “Celebrities” and “Performers”.
This will count as an extra-curricular activity.
