A
MESSAGE FROM THE POSTMASTER – ALICE WELLEN . . . . . . . From May 17 to
June 13, the Post Office held the Heroes of 2001 stamps promotion. The results are in. “VALMEYER HAS THE TOP HONOR!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all the customers who purchased
these stamps. This is the second time
Valmeyer Post Office customers have supported the Heroes promotion and came
away with the top honors. The last
promotion for the Heroes stamps was held in September, 2002. Almost 1800 stamps were bought and put on
letters and packages. Thanks again for
all your support.” Eight cents from
every stamp sale is a contribution which provides assistance to the families of
emergency relief personnel killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty
in connection with the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001. Stamps make great gifts for loved ones of
all ages. The Heroes of 2001 stamps and
a wide variety of other stamps may be purchased at your local Post Office, by
calling 800-STAMP-24, or by accessing the Postal Service web site at
www.usps.com.
RECYCLE
DAY – Saturday, July 19.
Please have your recycle items at the curb by 8:00 a.m. on that
day. Items that can be recycled include
aluminum cans, tin cans, glass separated by color, newspapers, along with type
1 and type 2 plastic containers.

MEETING OF THE VALMEYER VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES - Tuesday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the
Emergency Services Building.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS . . . . . . . Do any
of the following apply to you? - - - Are you a golfer? - - - Are you interested
in helping the community? - - - Are you a baseball fan? - - - Are you just a
nice guy or gal? - - - Then you’re invited to a golf tournament sponsored by the Valmeyer Jaycees to benefit the
completion of the new baseball field grandstand at Borsch Memorial Park in
Valmeyer. The event will include
playing golf, drinking beverages and eating food. What else do you need to know?
The when and where, or course.
The tournament, an 18-hole 4-person scramble, will take place on Friday,
September 19th at the Acorns Golf Course. There will be a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Entry
fee includes golf and cart, beverages for 5 hours, and a barbecue buffet. Call three of your friends and join in the
fun! You can have all this fun for a
meager $60 per person entry fee. Hole
sponsors are also being sought for a donation of $50. To register a team or for additional information, contact The
