SPECIAL
AT MIKE’S SERVICE AND CONVENIENCE . . . . . EVERY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON between
1:00 and 4:00 p.m. the attendant at Mike’s will pump gas for all Senior
Citizens.
CHRISTMAS
TREE PICKUP - If you still have a once-live Christmas tree lying around your
house, place it at the curb for the Village to pick up or call Village Hall for
pickup arrangements.
RECYCLING
DAY – Saturday, January 18 – PLEASE NOTE THAT PLASTICS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR RECYCLING. NUMBER 1 AND NUMBER 2 PLASTICS CAN ALSO BE
LEFT AT THE CURB. PLEASE CLEAN ALL
CONTAINERS THOROUGHLY. OTHER ITEMS THAT
CAN BE RECYCLED - - - ALUMINUM, TIN CANS, GLASS AND NEWSPAPERS.
VALMEYER
MUSIC BOOSTERS TRIVIA NIGHT – Saturday, January 25 – Valmeyer School Multi Purpose
Room. The entrance fee will be $10 per
person with a special student fee of $8.00.
There is a maximum of 8 players per table. Snacks and free popcorn will be available. There will be prizes awarded to the winning
teams, a 50/50 drawing and attendance prizes.
There is NO ALCOHOL allowed on the premises. For more info or to reserve a table contact Zoe Ann Schwarze at

Applications are currently being taken
for nominees for induction into THE
VALMEYER SCHOOL MUSIC HALL OF FAME. Nominees
do not need to be VHS graduates - - - nominees must be at least 23 years of age
- - - nominees can be living or deceased - - - nomination does not guarantee
induction, applications will be reviewed and inductees chosen by a majority of
committee members - - - applications of those not inducted will carry forward
to next year’s application review.
Nominees will be inducted into the VSMHF because of their outstanding
abilities in music and/or dance performance, because of their outstanding
service as music educators, or because they have made an outstanding
contribution to music in the school and/or their community. Induction may be because of any one or more
of the previously listed criteria.
Induction ceremonies and award presentations will occur at the Spring
Dinner Theater event of the Valmeyer Music Boosters on Saturday, March 8. Applications
are available from Marcia Braswell or Pat Wright at the School and are due no
later than January 17, 2003. PICK

January 22 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emergency Services Building.

VALMEYER PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES HAS A VACANCY. If this type of community service would
interest you, contact District Secretary Jackie Hoffmann at 458-7750 about the
details of the upcoming election.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS - - - BENEFIT DANCE FOR THE VALMEYER FIRST
RESPONDERS (the ambulance unit of the Valmeyer Fire Protection District) .
. . will take place on January 17, 2003 at the Hecker Community Center with
music from 8:00 p.m. to Midnight. Music will be by Route 3.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS - - - The Valmeyer School Music Boosters are
making plans to present their Annual Spring Dinner / Theater / Auction
event. Saturday, March 8th
is the date set for “Westward Ho”. Once
again those attending can expect to indulge in a delicious dinner, and have the
chance to bid on a plethora of interesting silent and live auction items. The entertainment for this year will be a
comedy murder mystery titled “A Fistful of Hollers” staged by Jest for Fun
Entertainment . . . . . a professional theater company. Watch for more details
in the coming weeks.
