The American Cancer Society RELAY FOR LIFE OF
MONROE COUNTY is a community event that
honors cancer survivors and pays tribute to those who have lost their battles
with cancer. The Relay is the American
Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event that offers an opportunity to
participate in the fight against cancer. The first Relay for Life of Monroe
County will be held on September 5 and 6, 2003. Linda Mathews, team recruitment chairman, is seeking individuals to
form teams that will help generate donations through a variety of fundraising
events. “One of our teams, the
Maeystown Hurricanes, is hosting a Mardi Gras Dance on March 1 at Eschy’s in
Maeystown. This is just one example of
a theme that is being used to help us with the relay for life,” says
Mathews. To form a team or if you have
questions about team fundraising, contact Linda Mathews at 618-473-2139 or
email at lmathews@htc.net.
