The Illinois Office of Education has approved Parent-Teacher conferences for the Valmeyer School District on Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25.  Students will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. on October 24, with conferences scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  On Friday, October 25 conferences will be held from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.  Students will not be in attendance at School on that day.  Some parents feel that they need to attend only if there is a problem.  We want to share the positive side with you, too, so please make a supreme effort to meet with your child’s teachers.  The goal of the School is 100% parent attendance . . . . . . . A fifteen-minute conference will be scheduled with each teacher with whom you request a conference in grades PreK-5.  If you feel fifteen minutes is not sufficient time with a teacher, please indicate that on your request form.  Conferences will be held in the homeroom of individual teachers.  Report cards for Elementary students (K-5) will be given to the parents at the conference.  Junior High School students (6-8) report cares may be picked up in the unit office prior to conferences . . . . . . . Parent / Teacher conferences for Grades 6-8 will be in the multi-purpose room.  Conferences will be on a walk-in basis for these grades.  Any Junior High report card not picked up during Parent / Teacher conferences will be given to the student on Monday, October 28. . . . . . . Parent / Teacher conferences for High School will be scheduled by appointment.  Parents may contact the High School office starting Monday, October 21 to make appointments.  Report cards for High School students will be distributed to parents as they arrive for conferences.  Any High School report card not picked up during Parent / Teacher conferences will be mailed home on Monday, October 28 . . . . . . .
