Take a drive past James Brown Park on South Meyer Avenue, and look at the new addition. Members of the Valmeyer Lions Club labored this past weekend to erect a gazebo in the park. It looks great and is an attractive addition to the park. Thank a Lions Club member the next time you see one for their generous contribution to our Village.
Did you find any bargains or good new junk at the various yard sales around town on Saturday? Baby items seemed to be in the majority. Does this mean we are at the END OR THE BEGINNING of a new trend?????
Congratulations to the Valmeyer High School graduating class of 2001. Best wishes to them for bright, healthy and prosperous futures.
One week from today is MEMORIAL DAY. Most of us will be home from work and will enjoy a day of leisure. Take time during the day to remember those who gave their lives in service to our country so we can enjoy the freedoms available to us. Take time to think of those who served in the military and have since passed on. Fly your flag proudly on this holiday in memory of those who have gone before us. There are many programs sponsored by groups throughout our area, but none is better than the Memorial Day program conducted by Valmeyer American Legion Post 901. Before you go off to enjoy a day of barbecue and boating, attend the American Legion Memorial Day program. It will help you to realize the true meaning of this holiday.
COMING TO THE VALMEYER LIBRARY on June 19 at 6:30 p.m. - - - Mike Anderson - - - Singer, Storyteller, Mountain Dulcimer Player and Childrens Writer. This is a program you wont want to miss. For more information on the work of Mr. Anderson visit www.dulcimerguy.com.
