IF THE ROOSTER DIES, BUY AN ALARM CLOCK

The Village has never been INFESTED with rattlesnakes, as it was recently reported. We have, however, had our share of Monkeys on our backs. Recently one of those monkeys was removed from the back of the Village. Last week the Village cleared another major hurdle. Final arrangements were completed for a General Obligation Bond which provided the funding to pay Illinois Power in full for all past obligations incurred during the relocation of the Village. A payment has been passed along to the utility company. Installation crews are scheduled to roll into town on Monday, April 16th to begin installation of all electric and natural gas distribution lines as well as street lights in the Village’s Phase VI area. Within 30 days all of this installation work is to be complete.

The Valmeyer Jaycees will be hosting their annual Good Friday Fish Fry on Friday, April 13th at the Firehouse. They will be serving from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. You can dine in or carry out. The Jaycees will be serving delicious fish and all the fixins’. Don’t miss this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Join CUB SCOUT PACK 345 and the new BOY SCOUT TROOP in Valmeyer - - If you could give your boy the greatest gift of all, what would it be? Whether you are rich or poor, the greatest gift is within your power because that gift is helping a boy become a person with a good feeling about himself and a genuine concern for others. Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting helps young boys build character, train in the responsibilities of participating in citizenship and in developing personal fitness. Recruiting for the 2001-2002 Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs will be in Valmeyer School’s Multi-Purpose Room on Thursday, April 19th at 7:00 p.m. If you need additional information about the Cub Scouting program, contact Todd Hildreth at 935-0500.
