WHAT A BUSY WEEK WE HAVE BEFORE US!!!!! Not only will we experience Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday, but we will also have to pay close attention to see if the month of March enters like a LION OR A LAMB!

Friday, March 2 – Teacher Institute – students dismissed at 12:45 p.m.
Friday, March 2 – FFA Tractor Show and Parade.
Friday, March 2 – Junior High Volleyball at Smithton.
Saturday, March 3 – IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contest at Freeburg.
Monday, March 5 – Pulaski Day – NO SCHOOL.

VALMEYER KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION - - - The Valmeyer School District will hold its annual Kindergarten Registration on March 14th from Noon to 7:00 p.m. Call 935-2100 for an appointment. All students who are entering Kindergarten in the fall must have an appointment to be registered. Children must be at least 5 years old by September 1, 2001, to legally enter Kindergarten this August. Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate, a copy of your child’s social security card, and a copy of the immunization record. These copies will be kept in your child’s accumulated record - - - please bring copies and not original documents. The pre-school screening will be held in August. This date has not yet been set. REMEMBER – APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION. PLEASE CALL THE UNIT OFFICE AT 935-2100 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT.

RECYCLING DAY – Saturday, March 3 – Please have your recyclables at the curb by 8:00 a.m. for pickup.

Time is running out for you to register to vote in the upcoming April Consolidated Election. Registration will close on Tuesday, March 6. If you are not sure about your voter registration status, call the County Clerk’s office at the Monroe County Courthouse at 939-8681. If you are not registered to vote, or if you are not registered from the correct address, you may not be able to vote at the April election.

Don’t forget to stop by MAR Graphics (935-2111), Valmeyer Village Hall (935-2131) or First Bank (935-2223) to purchase your copy of "Rising to New Heights: The Rebuilding of Valmeyer". These books are being sold as a fund raiser by the Valmeyer Optimist Club.
