Congratulations to the seven Valmeyer FFA members who received their Illinois FFA Degree on February 13. Rebecca Koch was named Star Farmer and Mark Baum was named Star Agribusinessman. Others receiving degrees were Kim McNiel, Robert Henerfauth, Dan Schilling, Erica Schultheis and Laura Garleb.

THIS WEEK!!!!! Valmeyer Music Boosters Annual Fish Fry and Music Marathon. Friday, February 23rd in the School Multi-Purpose Room. Carryouts available at 3:30 p.m. with serving from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Dinners will include delicious cod, along with 2 side orders and a dessert. Enjoy a music performance by students of the Valmeyer High School Music Department while you eat. All proceeds from this event go to the Valmeyer High School Music Department.
THIS WEEK!!!!! TRIVIA NIGHT - - Saturday, February 24th at St. John United Church of Christ beginning at 7:00 p.m. Maximum eight players per table with admission $10 per player. Cash prizes will be paid to the top three teams and attendance prizes will be awarded. Refreshments will be available and NO ALCOHOL is allowed. All proceeds will benefit St. John UCC Sunday School. VALMEYER KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION - - - The Valmeyer School District will hold its annual Kindergarten Registration on March 14th from Noon to 7:00 p.m. Call 935-2100 for an appointment. All students who are entering Kindergarten in the fall must have an appointment to be registered. Children must be at least 5 years old by September 1, 2001, to legally enter Kindergarten this August. Please bring a copy of your childs birth certificate, a copy of your childs social security card, and a copy of the immunization record. These copies will be kept in your childs accumulated record - - - please bring copies and not original documents. The pre-school screening will be held in August. This date has not yet been set. REMEMBER APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION. PLEASE CALL THE UNIT OFFICE AT 935-2100 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT.
Illinois Department of Natural Resources Rattlesnake program Monday, February 26 at the Emergency Services Building at 7:00 p.m.

This is a book by Carrie Wobbe of Belleville, and it is her rendition of the planning and creation of the new Village, along with the human perspective of the endeavor. These books are being sold as a fund raiser by the Valmeyer Optimist Club.
