A.      Personal Gain

Students may not use the Internet for private financial or commercial gain.

B.      Illegal Material

Students may not access, submit, post, publish, or display any defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, racially offensive, harassing or illegal material.

C.      Non-district media

Students may not use software, audio, or video media and hardware not purchased by the district or approved for use by the district.

D.     Suspension of Privileges

Students may not use the Internet while access privileges are suspended or revoked.

E.      Waiver

Any user who feels he or she has a legitimate reason for using the district’s technology in a way which may violate any of the district’s published policies and procedures (legitimate research) may request a wavier of the policies and procedures from the technology director, superintendent or their designees.

 

Consequences of Unacceptable Use of Internet Policies

 

A.      First Violation of any policy provision- Revocation of Network/Internet privileges for two (2) weeks.

B.      Second Violation of any policy provision- Revocation of Network/Internet privileges for six (6) weeks and two (2) days in-school suspension.

C.      Third Violation of any policy provision- Suspension of Network/Internet privileges for the remainder of the school and (2) days in-school suspension.

 

No Warranties

            The District makes no warranties of any kind, whether expressed or implied, for the service it is providing. The District will not be responsible for any damages you suffer. This includes loss of data resulting from delays, non-deliveries, missed deliveries, or service interruptions caused by its negligence or your errors or omissions. Use of information obtained via the Internet is at your own risk. The District specifically denies any responsibility for the accuracy or quality of information obtained through its service.

 

Indemnification

The user agrees to indemnify the School District for any losses, costs, or damages, including reasonable attorney fees, incurred by the District relating to, or arising out of, any breach of the Authorization.
